The Yavapai Apache Nation opened Cliff Castle Casino in 1995, as a result of proposition 201 which authorized Indian Gaming in the state of Arizona. Thanks to the hard work of the Yavapai Apache Nation and the support of the surrounding communities, Cliff Castle Casino has grown and flourished over its twenty year history. Currently, Cliff Castle Casino offers 114,000 square feet of gaming, dining, entertainment, and family fun in its newly remodeled facility on Middle Verde Road and welcomes over 1.4 million guests each year. The Casino has dramatically improved the quality of life and financial future of the Yavapai Apache Nation through improved infrastructure, employment, housing, education, medical and public safety for over 2,300 Tribal members.
Cliff Castle Casino Hotel is also one of the area’s largest employers and employs 430 people, offering many employees complete benefits, professional training and advancement opportunities. The Casino and the Yavapai Apache Tribal Council are very appreciative of the support of the community and since its inception have contributed over 1.5 million dollars to surrounding towns including Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Rim Rock and Sedona. Local charities and non-profits including Verde Valley Sanctuary, The Humane Society and the Yavapai Food Council have also benefited from the generosity of the casino which has given over $150,000 to local groups over the years. “As one of the largest employers in the region we feel that it is imperative that we provide a work environment that is both positive and challenging for our employees while also supporting the communities in which they live”, stated Mary Ketterling, General Manager of Cliff Castle Casino Hotel.
