Eva Putzova announced her candidacy for Flagstaff City Council in the 2014 elections.
“When people prosper, the City prospers,” says Eva–a Flagstaff resident of 13 years and a passionate advocate for an environmentally sustainable and socially and economically just community. During the campaign, and if elected into the office, Eva plans to engage the Flagstaff community in seeking solutions that lead to
- living wages,
- affordable rent,
- protection of natural resources, and
- creative partnerships for a stronger community.
“Making it easier for people to engage in civic life is another challenge I want to pursue,” continues Putzova. “Let’s explore ways to occasionally hold the Council meetings in different parts of the city–at community centers, our schools, or even churches–to make participation easier for everyone, to introduce Council activities to our youth, and to engage those that are often underrepresented in the public discourse. And most importantly, let’s commit to diversifying our boards and commissions, so every voice is heard.”
In addition to her master’s degree in business and marketing from the University of Economics in Slovakia, Eva completed leadership programs at Harvard University and Cornell University.
