In an effort to help children and their families lead healthier and more active lives, Fit Kids of Arizona is sponsoring the 5th annual Fit Kids 5K Fun Run. This year’s event is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, at Cottonwood’s Riverfront Park. Walkers and runners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend this fun event.
The run begins at 9 a.m. Check in and same-day registration is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. To pre-register, visit www.NAHealth.com/OurServices/FitKidsOfArizona/5K, call 928-634-1880 or stop by the Fit Kids office in Cottonwood, located at 637 N. Main St., in the Riverfront Commons.
T-shirts are provided for all registered participants. After the run, participants will be treated to snacks, activities and an award ceremony, as well as information about Fit Kids of Arizona programs, services and upcoming events.
Fit Kids of Arizona is a regional community health initiative developed by Northern Arizona Healthcare, with clinical programs at Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center, addressing the growing health concern of obesity in children. Clinical services are offered in Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Flagstaff and Williams. Since opening in 2009, more than 2,000 children have been referred to the Fit Kids program. FBN
