Fit Kids of Arizona is a regional community health initiative developed by Northern Arizona Healthcare, with programs at Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center, designed to address the very common health concern of obesity in children. Additional clinics are offered in Camp Verde and Williams. The clinical programs assist children and their families in developing healthy lifestyles while reducing the problems and illnesses associated with excess weight. The Fit Kids team takes a preventive community approach to help families live healthier lives. Since opening in 2009, more than 1,400 children have been referred to Fit Kids, resulting in nearly 7,000 clinic visits in the Flagstaff/Williams locations and 4,000 clinic visits in the Cottonwood/Camp Verde locations.
