Cancer 101- What you need to know about cancer is the topic of the July 17 Take Note Flagstaff Lecture Series, sponsored by Flagstaff Medical Center. The Tuesday, July 17 lecture will feature radiation oncologist Pamela Vanderwall, M.D. The free presentation is 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the East Flagstaff Community Library, 3000 N. Fourth Street. Dr. Vanderwall will discuss the basics of cancer biology, causes, diagnosis, detection and prevention. There also will be time for questions and answers.
Dr. Vanderwall is a radiation oncologist at the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare, located in Flagstaff and Sedona. The Cancer Centers are devoted to the comprehensive treatment and early diagnosis of cancer through advanced technology and individualized care.
