Grand Canyon Field Institute Opportunity

Grand Canyon Association is excited to announce aGrand Rim Adventure, a daily half-day walking tour led by our expert Grand Canyon Field Institute instructors, available for same day booking, from June 13 to August 31.

A Grand Rim Adventure will share the compelling stories of the canyon’s rocks, plants, animals, landmark structures and colorful historic characters—all told against the spectacular backdrop of the canyon itself. And if you are lucky you just may have encounters with California condors, desert bighorn sheep, flowering plants and perhaps even a rainbow or two!

A Grand Rim Adventure is an ideal option for families with children, adults not interested in hiking below the rim, anyone visiting the park for a single day or less, or even for hardy backcountry types who are seeking a more leisurely but enriching experience.

With a maximum of 10 participants per tour, this 3.5-hour walk begins daily at 1 p.m. Reservations can only be made in person at in Verkamps Visitor Center (just east of the El Tovar Hotel) in Grand Canyon Village up to seven days prior to one’s desired tour date.

Founded in 1932, the Grand Canyon Association (GCA) is the National Park Service’s official nonprofit partner raising private funds to benefit Grand Canyon National Park, operating retail shops and visitor centers within the park, and providing premier educational opportunities about the natural and cultural history of the region. It is the mission of GCA to cultivate knowledge, discovery, and stewardship for the benefit of Grand Canyon National Park and its visitors.
