This is the sunny and warm time of year when we often start to pull the old, dusty lawn furniture out of the garage in order to get the most out of the upcoming perfect weather. But it tends to not be quite as relaxing if you don’t like the patio furniture you have. There are a few facts and brands you should know before purchasing a new set of patio furniture.
When buying new patio furniture, there are a few things to look for to make sure the furniture is of high quality and made of aluminum and not steel. Steel will rust in wet weather while aluminum will not. Many of the lower quality manufacturers will put steel rods inside thin aluminum frames in order to give the illusion of a heavier, higher quality piece of furniture. These steel rods will result in rust stains on your patio or deck surface. The same goes for the nuts and bolts used to hold it together; stainless steel should be used in order to prevent rust and damage to the rest of the furniture. Finally, make sure bracing is in place for the legs on chairs; this prevents spreading out when they are sat on. This is a common design defect and is easy to avoid by purchasing a piece of furniture simply by paying attention to the feel.
If the furniture you are looking at has cushions, there are also a few things to consider. Check whether the fabric on the cushions has been UV tested. If not, the fabric will not hold up well against weather conditions. Also, if the cushions are light and almost “too soft,” these kind of cushions will eventually flatten out after lots of use and become saggy and uncomfortable. Finally, make absolutely sure that you are comfortable in the furniture. Furniture that looks nice is not always the roomiest, most comfortable furniture that you could find. There are many brands that are made with looks AND comfort in mind.
A couple of brands to look for are Agio and Chicago Wicker. Agio patio furniture is a high quality and cost-effective furniture brand that is carried by many patio furniture dealers. This furniture will not rust and has a wide variety of different types of chairs, tables and other outdoor living products. When looking for something different than aluminum, Chicago Wicker has many options for quality wicker furniture. They have a wide selection of cushions as well as a good warranty. Either of these brands have styles that should fit anyone’s needs when it comes to looking for a new set of furniture for their patio.
There is not a better feeling than sitting on your patio in comfort and style on these warm summer days. Keep in mind these few purchasing guidelines and brands and you’re already halfway to summer relaxation! FBN
