Topping many a New Year’s resolution list are goals to try something new, be more physically active and appreciate the outdoors. The Nordic Center, 15 miles north of Flagstaff, resolves to help you successfully meet your goals. The ski area reports 70 percent of its 30 miles of trails are snow packed, expertly groomed and open to get you on the right path this weekend and throughout the winter.
So far, more than two thousand outdoor recreationists have been playing in the snow, cross-country skiing, skate skiing and riding snow bikes at the Nordic Center this holiday
season.
“Conditions are good with plenty of snow and lots of sunshine,” said Nordic Center Manager Wendell Johnson. “Come on out and don’t forget the sunscreen!”
The Nordic Center will be open Friday – Sunday and on holidays for snow sports this winter. With more snow in the forecast early next week, Nordic Center officials expect a consistent season.
Discounted Nordic Center Day Passes are available at Babbitt’s Backcountry Outfitters in downtown Flagstaff. For more information on hours, snow and trail conditions, visit FlagstaffNordicCenter.com or call (928) 220-0550.
