Maybe you never heard of Dublin Dr Pepper, but hundreds of soda fanatics have – and they have been dropping by Route 66 Mini Market to load up on the original glass bottle Dr Pepper.
Dublin Dr Pepper is made with pure cane imperial sugar and has been bottled by a family owned business in Dublin, Texas for over 110 years.
In mid-January, Dr Pepper-Snapple settled a trademark dispute and won the rights to bottle Dr Pepper in the Texas territory. It will carry no reference to the nostalgic original Dublin Dr Pepper packaging.
It was a David-and-Goliath match and Goliath won this one. The Dublin Dr Pepper bottler was sold out of their product within 48 hours of this settlement. Shortly after, it was being offered on eBay for up to $200 a case.
Route 66 Mini Market has become known for its unique line of sodas, including Dublin Dr Pepper. They offer over 100 different bottled beverages, with 30 of them being made with pure-cane sugar. FBN
