Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) is announcing that it invested more than $6 million in almost 800 nonprofits and schools in Arizona in 2011. Wells Fargo team members contributed more than $2.4 million of the total in addition to almost 100,000 volunteer hours to help their neighborhoods and communities succeed.

In 2011 Human Services received the largest amount of donations, totaling $1,546,347. Wells Fargo focused its contributions in the following areas:
Arts and Culture: $219,043 Civic and Environment: $216,305 Community Development: $997,306 Education: $793,680 Human Services: $1,546,357
Nationally, Wells Fargo invested $213.5 million in 19,000 nonprofits in 2011, giving more than $200 million for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, Wells Fargo team members contributed more than $63.9 million and 1.5 million volunteer hours to 25,000 nonprofits and schools. For the third year in a row, United Way Worldwide has named Wells Fargo’s annual Community Support and United Way Campaign the No. 1 Giving Campaign.

The Northern Arizona nonprofits who received funding from Wells Fargo, include The American Cancer Society, Flagstaff Cultural Partners, Flagstaff Medical Center, Northern Arizona University Foundation and the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association of Flagstaff.
