The Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare – Flagstaff Campus is offering a free healthy cooking class with Dietitian Cathy Tomasi. The free cooking class is 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Cancer Center at Flagstaff Medical Center, 1200 N. Beaver St. For more information or to R.S.V.P., call 928 773-2261. Tomasi specializes in providing medical nutritional therapy to patients who have received a cancer diagnosis including individual dietary consultations with patients and group education for patients and their families. Cancer researchers have long been investigating how food choices can help prevent cancer and improve survival when cancer has been diagnosed. Studies have shown that a plant-based diet offers more cancer-fighting protection than other diet plans.
