“Thank you to so many of the members of the community who joined us at our very successful Casino Night,” said VVS Board President Pat Jansen, adding that attendance for the Nov. 1 event at Sedona Golf Resort’s Juniper Bar and Grille “exceeded expectations” for the evening as guests played live blackjack, poker, roulette and the craps table.
“We know that many were moved by the survivor who was brave enough to share her story with all of us. Her sincerity and gratefulness certainly inspired everyone in the room and validated the importance of our work together,” Jansen said.
“It was a wonderful evening, and it was amazing to see everyone who has supported us for many years, and to meet some new faces who chose to support the important work we do with survivors,” VVS Executive Director Jessye Johnson said.

The nonprofit organization began in 1993 with a leased modular home that slept six and has grown to a 28-bed emergency shelter with transitional housing options, a lay legal advocacy center and a crisis hotline.
