Poor Job Numbers Reflect Grim Policy Outlook

The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) said May's jobs numbers are not surprising given flawed government policies that continue to jack up business costs and fuel uncertainty. The unemployment rate increased to 9.1 percent, and employers only added 54,000 jobs last month according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The Outlook for Pine Canyon

There has been little in the news about the prestigious Pine Canyon development on the southern edge of Flagstaff since the developer, Lonetree Investments Inc., declared bankruptcy in September. Locals Hoping to Hit Jackpot on Twin Arrows Casino Bids

City Reaches Agreement on Red Gap Ranch

The City of Flagstaff is announcing it has reached agreement with the Attorney General’s Office of the Navajo Nation regarding drilling and pumping of water at Red Gap Ranch.  Red Gap Ranch is an 8,500 acre ranch located immediately south of the Navajo Reservation in proximity of Leupp.  The City acquired this Ranch in 2005 to serve its future water needs. Peak Engineering Inc. Celebrating Success

The partners of Peak Engineering, Inc. in Flagstaff are celebrating their one year anniversary.   Julie Leid, Anne Dunno and Tom Smith left other engineering jobs to start a new firm during the recession.  The partners are reporting a successful first year and have hired their first employee. Bearizona Reaches One Year Anniversary

Bearizona Wildlife Park is celebrating one year in business.  The drive-through park near Williams features North American animals including bears, wolves, bison and big horn sheep as well as other animals.
