During the month of December, Bashas’ and Food City Grocery Stores across Northern Arizona will be collecting donations at their registers to benefit children who receive medical care at Flagstaff Medical Center’s Children’s Health Center (CHC). For more than 25 years, FMC’s Children’s Health Center has provided comprehensive medical care for chronically ill and disabled children, and children who have been abused, or are suspected of being abused.
Twenty-two stores in 19 towns will be participating in the fundraising drive including Bashas and Food City stores in Flagstaff, Sedona, Cottonwood, Tuba City, Camp Verde, Lake Havasu, Chinle and more. To contribute, shoppers can simply add $1 to their grocery bill when they check out at the registers.
“We are very grateful to Bashas’ for choosing the Children’s Health Center as a recipient of their monthly charity this holiday season,” said Sheila Schill, FMC Children’s Health Center director. “We hope shoppers will feel particularly inspired to donate, knowing that these dollars will go toward helping children with chronic disabilities and illnesses.”
The Center provides evaluation and treatment of children through medical, rehabilitative and psycho-social intervention. The multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, technicians and support staff who provide confidential, family-centered care in a child-friendly environment. CHC’s pediatric outpatient services include:
- Children’s Rehabilitative Services
- Children’s Specialty Clinics
- Audiology Services
- Safe Child Center
Each month, Bashas’ Family of Stores selects a charity for which they collect donations. The December fundraiser to benefit FMC’s Children’s Health Center is a collaboration between Bashas’ and Food City Grocery Stores and the Flagstaff Medical Center Foundation, and is sponsored by Flagstaff Business News and KAFF 92.9 Radio.
