In fewer than 50 days, skiers and snowboarders can rejoice the arrival of winter by hitting the slopes at Arizona Snowbowl.
With overnight temperatures already dipping below 32 degrees, Arizona Snowbowl is gearing up to begin its third season with snowmaking. The first projected opening date is November 28 – “White Friday”.
The resort’s ability to make snow allows skiers and boarders to plan their trips to the mountain in confidence.
Snowbowl Marketing and Sales Director Jason Stratton is looking forward to the upcoming season.
“Everyone at Snowbowl is working hard to make sure everything will be ready for the winter season,” Stratton said. “We’ve made several improvements over the summer to ensure an even better experience for all of our guests.”
Some upgrades to the resort and guest experience include the purchase of a brand new fleet of kid friendly Elan rental skis, adding pavement substrate to all of the parking lots, the addition of Children’s Canyon Country on Hart Prairie— a place for kids to explore and try new moves on their skis and boards, an enhanced Safety Week program, and expansions to the Powder Alliance program for season passholders.
With the start of the season only 50 days away, the season pass preseason sale deadline is getting close. Season passholders should purchase their passes by October 15 at midnight to take advantage of discounted pass rates, saving up to $230 per person.
The upcoming season also means that Snowbowl is looking for dedicated, motivated, and talented people to fill a large amount of seasonal employment positions.
Every winter Snowbowl is a significant contributor to the local economy by hiring over 500 employees, including ski and snowboard instructors, cashiers, cooks, lift operators, parking attendants, and more.
Winter enthusiasts looking for seasonal employment are invited to attend Snowbowl’s annual Job Fair on Nov. 5 from 3-7 p.m. in the Hart Prairie Lodge.
Kymm Bowthorpe, Arizona Snowbowl’s Human Resources Director, has been busy preparing for this season’s job fair. She is optimistic that there will be a high turnout of well-qualified applicants.
“We are continuously on the lookout for unique yet like-minded individuals to help us ensure a world class experience for our guests,” Bowthorpe said. “We employ people that take the initiative to go the extra mile, exceeding expectations every time. You need to be an employee that believes each time you have contact with a customer is another opportunity to go above and beyond for them.”
Interested applicants must visit arizonasnowbowl.com to print and complete a job application to present to managers. Applicants should bring several copies of their application, as they will be meeting with multiple managers. Interviews are completed on the spot, so Snowbowl advises applicants to come dressed appropriately for a job interview. For more information, visit arizonasnowbowl.com.
