The Coconino County Board of Supervisors appointed Janet Regner to head the County’s Community Services Department.
Board Chairman Carl Taylor and county administrators recognized Regner’s more than 30 years in the public, private, non-profit and tribal sectors and eagerness to better the lives of county residents as factors in selecting her as the department’s next director. Regner was appointed during the Board’s meeting on Tuesday.
“Janet’s experience and dedication to providing the best services to diverse populations is exactly what the residents of Coconino County need and deserve,” Taylor said. “Drawing from her experiences working with multiple organizations and partners throughout the state and nation can only benefit our citizens who rely on Community Services’ crucial programs.”
The Community Services Department strives to enhance the wellbeing of many less fortunate and isolated county residents through a number of social programs, including housing rehabilitation services, senior programs and services, and Meals on Wheels, which delivers meals to several homebound and needy residents daily.
Prior to her appointment, Regner served as senior partner in the public affairs firm of Husk Partners where she represented Fortune 500 companies, Arizona tribes, non-profit organizations and state and local governments.
The County Community Services Department is one of the state’s nine formally recognized Community Action Agencies. Regner brings 14 years of knowledge and experience working with such agencies and their services statewide and nationally developed during her tenure as executive director of the Arizona Community Action Association.
“I am deeply honored and excited to be appointed by the Board of Supervisors to this very important position for the County,” Regner said. “I worked closely with the County’s Community Services Department in the past and will strive to continue a legacy of dedication to the betterment of citizens in all walks of life. Our common goal is to meet the multiple and diverse needs of the most-needy citizens to the maximum extent possible through focused and collaborative efforts of service delivery and leveraged resources.”
