Erasable Color in Concert

April 6, 2012 By techsuperadmin Leave a Comment

Flagstaff Cultural Partners is proud to present the fresh sounds of Erasable Color. The concert will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:00pm in the indoor listening theater at the Coconino Center for the Arts with a pre-concert talk at 12:30pm.

Erasable Color is a fresh and vibrant musical presence in Northern Arizona. Comprised of pianist Jess Ryan, saxophonist Liza Stegall, and percussionists Drew Worden and Owen Davis, this quartet specializes in the energetic and dynamic performance of contemporary music. Erasable Color is committed to playing the music of established modern composers as well as the music of a younger, emerging generation. In 2011, five composers from around the country have been commissioned to write new works for Erasable Color’s unique and versatile instrumentation.
Through performances, master classes, commissions of new works, and community outreach, Erasable Color engages in the world of music as it is today in hopes of fostering an appreciation for contemporary music in their community. Visit Erasable Color on the web at erasablecolor.com.
At 1:30pm, NAU professors Steve Hemphill and Bruce Reiprich will join Erasable Color’s Owen Davis for the pre‐concert discussion: “Cage’s Music: Listening and Performing”. At 3:00pm, guest artists Jennifer Russell, Jonathan Bergeron, John Masserini, and members of the NAU Percussion Ensemble will share the stage with Erasable Color for this exciting event.
Tickets are $10. Children 14 and under receive half priced tickets. The concert will begin at 2:00pm. A pre-concert talk by the band will begin at 12:30pm. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit culturalpartners.org, dial (928) 779-2300, or come in to the Coconino Center for the Arts.
