Entrance fees will be waived on Saturday, September 28th, 2013 at Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, and Wupatki National Monuments to celebrate National Public Lands Day and the Flagstaff National Monuments Festival of Science Open House.

Imagine what prehistoric people thought when Sunset Crater Volcano erupted! Join an archaeologist at the Lava Flow Trail at Sunset Crater Volcano for a discussion on how humans adapted to this extreme environmental change.
Flagstaff Area National Monuments Open House – Saturday, September 28,
Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, and Wupatki National Monuments, All Day
Walk through layers of time at Walnut Canyon, learn about the volcanic field that rocked northern Arizona’s past at Sunset Crater, and explore the 100 room Wupatki Pueblo. All three monuments are free of charge and will be offering ranger talks and family-friendly activities throughout the day. Entrance fees to all National Park Service sites will be waived for National Public Lands Day.

All three monuments are open daily, except December 25. The entrance fee is $5.00/person for visitors 16 and over. America the Beautiful Passes are honored and sold.
