Voters are being given the chance to vote ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ on ratification of the Flagstaff Regional Plan 2030: Place Matters. Flagstaff voters received an information pamphlet this week providing information on plan and the May election. Ballots will be mailed April 28, 2014. If you do not receive your ballot, please contact Coconino County Elections Office to request a provisional ballot. All completed ballots must be received no later than 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 20, 2014 either by mail or at the drop box located at 110 East Cherry Avenue, Flagstaff.
The Flagstaff Regional Plan was adopted by the City Council in January and the election will be conducted by mail. The document is a tool for decision making that holds City government accountable for publicly derived goals and policies. It is aspirational in its scope and provides a vision for the future of Flagstaff and the region. The Plan is also a framework for regulations and decisions that will determine the physical and economic development within the Flagstaff region. The Plan may be reviewed atwww.FlagstaffMatters.com; hard copies are available to check out at the CD front counter at City Hall, and at both library locations.
