Many times, Northern Arizona residents feel that they must head south to find what they need for the holidays. Located in our own backyard are a variety of options waiting to be discovered. The Flagstaff Mall and The Marketplace offer everything from electronics and tools to home goods and clothing. You can even take time out from the hustle and bustle and treat yourself to a massage or a pedicure. With larger stores such as JCPenney, Dillard’s, Sears, Best Buy combined with national favorites including Eddie Bauer, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, Rack Room Shoes and more, the mall is well positioned to provide everything you need for the winter and upcoming holidays.
Exciting news this season is the addition of The Children’s Place, which opens on Nov. 23. No longer will you have to drive 180 miles to Phoenix to find the perfect children’s outfit. The Children’s Place is the largest children’s specialty apparel retailer in North America and is the number one brand recommended by moms. Families will find their high quality, value priced styles in their new store located inside the Flagstaff Mall between Dillard’s and the Food Court.
This year, you’ll find several new and returning seasonal stores including:
- See’s Candy: offering quality chocolates without preservatives.
- Sportula: college, NFL, MLB, NHL, Nascar and specialty BBQ sets, spatulas, coasters, forks and tongs.
- Hickory Farms: a variety of individual or combination packages of delectable and savory sausage, cheese items and treats.
- Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden: creating personalized engraved bracelets, metal tags, ornaments and dog tags.
- Go Calendar: offering a great selection of calendars, games, puzzles and more.
If you are searching for the perfect gift but are at a loss for what to purchase, consider purchasing a gift card. For several years, gift cards have been the number one requested gift item. Starting in late November, the mall has partnered with the widely accepted brand, Visa. Visa gift cards have customizable values ranging from $20-$500 and they are accepted nationwide both online and in stores. And, if you would rather pick a retailer or restaurant gift card, the mall will now also feature a broad selection of retailer cards.
When planning the kick-off to your holiday shopping, you should make sure that you start at the mall’s Midnight Madness event on Black Friday. Mall doors will be open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving and stores, which will open at midnight, will have amazing specials, allowing you to find the best gift at the right price. Starting at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving night, KAFF Country will be on site broadcasting live and giving away GREAT prizes. The fun will continue all night into the early morning hours.
A visit with Santa is a tradition for almost every family. At Flagstaff Mall, Santa is available to visit with guests of all ages for free. Portrait packages are also available every day from Nov. 22 through Christmas Eve. This year, the mall is inviting Pet Parents to bring their favorite four-legged friend on one of the Pet Nights (Dec. 2, 9, and 16 from 6-9 p.m.).
There are many other holiday traditions to be found at the mall:
- Light-a-Life by Northland Hospice: Honor someone special while supporting a worthy cause.
