Coconino County will host a public meeting June 6 to gain input on the Fort Tuthill Master Plan.
The County Parks and Recreation Department has initiated a master plan process for Fort Tuthill County Park, which is the County’s signature park facility. The proposed master plan will help guide future growth and development of the 413-acre park, as it transitions into a year-round destination for residents and visitors alike.
Fort Tuthill showcases the annual County Fair, Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course and the Pepsi Amphitheater – the County’s own event and concert venue that draws major musical acts each spring and summer. The park will also become the wintertime home to North Pole Experience, which will bring residents and visitors a taste of the North Pole and Santa’s Workshop. However, guiding the park’s future depends on the amount of public input received during the planning process.
Four design concepts were presented for public input/comment in May. A fifth design concept was developed as a result of public input. This concept was discussed at the stakeholders group last May 25.
This will be presented for public input at the next public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 in the County Board of Supervisors Chambers at 219 E. Cherry Avenue in Flagstaff. To view proposed design concepts and additional information visit www.coconino.az.gov/parks.
