In a digital world, a website serves as the face of your organization.
After all, it’s often the first place community members, visitors and business owners turn when looking for information on various products, services and events. Increasingly, our tech-savvy public demands that information is readily available and right at their fingertips.
While Coconino County’s website has served the county, its residents and business partners well for 12 years, it was long overdue for a complete overhaul. That came to fruition Nov. 30, when the county’s new website, www.coconino.az.gov, officially came online.
In addition to being more aesthetically pleasing – incorporating a rotating banner of photos illustrating many sweeping, breathtaking views of our county – the new site is packed with features that allow users to easily access the information they want and need.
Users can create their own accounts and be notified via email or text message as relevant content is published to the site.
Are you a business owner who wants a heads up when new bidding opportunities become available? Now you can be notified.
Want notification when an emergency strikes? You’ll be one of the first to know.
Curious what new County Parks and Recreation or County Public Health District programs are being offered or want to receive news releases on a wide range of topics? Done.
The redesign was years in the making and intended to ensure the highest level of customer service for our residents, visitors and businesses partners. Our County Information Technology Department spent months gathering input in order to determine how to best deliver content.
The county then leveraged private sector expertise by outsourcing this project to web designer CivicPlus to design the new site and handle migrating content from the old to the new site. The result is a clean, highly functional and informative resource that introduces our county’s services, striking landscapes and panoramic views to the world.
In addition to serving as an official location for information, the site serves as a powerful tool for residents, businesses, visitors and those looking to relocate to our growing communities. From one central location, users can access social program information, maps and links to attractions from throughout the county.
The overall effort to revamp the county’s website continues our pledge to improve customer service and transparency. Utilizing the “Report an Issue” function on the site, users can notify county staff of issues that need attention. This ensures accountability and reassures our residents and business sectors that their concerns will be handled promptly and professionally.
In our growing digital world, access to information is key and the county’s investment in technology serves as a critical tool to better meet the needs of our citizens. Whether it’s through our expanding use of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube or our redesigned webpage, we all benefit from the county’s growing presence on the Internet and around the world. FBN
