As a proud supporter of local student sports, Northern Arizona Orthopaedics donated $1,500 to the Flagstaff High School Athletic Department.
Each year, Northern Arizona Orthopaedics matches the fees collected during an annual sports physical event hosted for local high school student athletes. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event was canceled. Although 2020 would have marked the 8th consecutive year Northern Arizona Orthopaedics held an annual sports clinic with a matched donation, the physicians still decided to move forward with the contribution, knowing it would add value to the high school and the Flagstaff community.
This philanthropic pledge continues to be a significant by emphasizing a fundamental tenet of Flagstaff’s oldest and most respected orthopedic practice; giving back. With this year’s check, Northern Arizona Orthopaedics has now donated a total of $17,450 to the local high school.
“We care deeply about our local athletes and earmarking this special donation each year is our way of ensuring our kids stay active and injury free,” said Yuri Lewicky, MD, of Northern Arizona Orthopaedics, “This is only achieved if the trainers and coaches have all they need to run a successful athletics program.”
