There’s that saying “it takes a village…” and in this case, that saying rings true here in Northern Arizona, a very tight knit community who supports each other in hard times. A group of individuals from the Flagstaff community made it their mission this past June to raise funds to directly support the Wildland Firefighter’s Foundation to help support those who lost loved ones in the aftermath of the Yarnell Fire and the 19 Granite Mountain Hot Shots whose lives were lost.
And so this group of community leaders set a date. This silent auction event will be taking place at Mother Road Brewery at 7 South Mike’s Pike on Saturday, August 3rd from 10am to 2pm. Food will be provided by local BBQ favorite, Satchmos, as well as live music by the always entertaining Irish band, The Knockabouts, and of course delicious beer provided by none other than Mother Road Brewery.
So far, the planning committee has managed to bring in nearly 15K worth of items to include in the silent auction as well as attract a very special guest, Arizona Congresswoman Anne Kirkpatrick. Every penny raised is going directly to the foundation to help support them, wildland firefighter families and those directly affected by the loss of the 19 Granite Mountain Hot Shots.
