Arizona Snowbowl is opening at the perfect time for you to shed your turkey feast off on the mountain this weekend. With early season snow on the ground, and an expert snowmaking crew hard at work for the past two weeks, Snowbowl management says they are enthusiastic for the opening.
Lifts that are open include Sunset Triple (654 vertical feet, 2,675 feet long), Hart Prairie Double (650 vertical feet, 3,200 feet long) and Little Spruce Conveyor. The runs available to skiers and snowboarders are Southern Belle (8.5 acres), Hart Prairie (31 acres) and the Little Spruce Conveyor. Great terrain to start out the season and prep those winter legs for skiing and riding. Hart Prairie Lodge will be open with restaurant, equipment rental, sport shop, and ski school offering lessons for all ages. Guest services are open for Season Pass pickup and gift card sales.
“Our hopes for the latest winter storm fell a little short of being able to open more terrain with a quality product for our customers.” said Jason Stratton, Director of Sales and Marketing. “This is a perfect example of blending Mother Nature’s efforts with machine made snow. The cold temperatures associated with the storm allowed snowmaking operations to continue producing snow around-the-clock throughout the storm.” said Mr. Stratton.
General Manager of Arizona Snowbowl, J.R. Murray is looking forward to seeing everyone on the mountain this season. “The snowmaking crew has been working very hard to make the first day a reality. The snowmaking system is performing just as we had planned and is responsible for this early opening. We will now move the snowmaking machines to other priority areas on the mountain which includes the Agassiz lift and Sunset Terrain Park.” said Mr. Murray.
Snowbowl also has an early season Buy One Get One Free lift ticket special that is available for purchase online before midnight Nov. 30. Check the website for details – www.arizonasnowbowl.com/
Please Note: Now that Arizona Snowbowl is in winter operations and according to the National Forest Service policy, ALL Slopes will be closed to uphill access throughout the season from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
