The Flagstaff Nordic Center is closing this week because of a lack of snow. Officials at the Nordic Center north of Flagstaff on Highway 180, says they expect to reopen for the weekend if snow arrives, as expected. Other facilities at the cross country ski area remain open. “Our yurt and camping cabins remain open regardless of snow conditions,” announced Nordic Center employees. “Let’s hope for some new snow and a big end to a wonderful winter season,” they added.
Meanwhile, at Arizona Snowbowl, downhill skiing and snowboarding continue despite the sunshine and warm winter temperatures. General Manager J.R. Murray tells FBN, the snowmaking makes all the difference. A solid base of snow and optimum ski conditions are bringing many skiers to the mountain this month.
