Arizona Governor Doug Ducey assured Flagstaff area businesspeople he was not on a good-bye tour when he spoke during the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on Friday, Feb. 18. “The state of the state is strong. Tourism seems to be picking up across the country and in the state of Arizona, following a 2009 crash related to the economy. But some aspects of Flagstaff’s tourism appear a bit slower to catch up. Nationally, according to the Arizona Office of Tourism, hotels are doing a little better than they did last year. Occupancy went up about five percent across the country. AZ Tourism Industry Remains Economic Driver

Flagstaff tourism officials are joining state officials in recognizing the value of the tourism officials in Arizona. Jacki Lenners tells FBN there are activites the entire week.  "We kicked off National Tourism Week with an event at our Visitor Center on Saturday in honor of National Train Day.
