In accordance with The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprises’ (Navajo Gaming) plan of operation, and through the approval of its Gaming Board, Navajo Gaming, led by Derrick Watchman, CEO recently made a $1.5 Million distribution to the Gaming Distribution Fund. Bob Winter, Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (NNGE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO),is announcing he will resign from his position effective January 1, 2013. NNGE Chief Financial Officer Derrick Watchman will be named CEO by the NNGE Board of Directors upon Winter’s transition. Navajo Nation Considers Smoking Ban
Navajo lawmakers will reconsider a smoking ban during the upcoming session in Window Rock this week. The bill would reportedly exempt tribal casinos at least until financing debts are paid off. A spokeswoman for tribal President Ben Shelly says he does not support the exemption because the president would prefer to protect the health of Navajos.
