Tip-A-Cop Special Olympics Fundraiser a Success

Staff members from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, Flagstaff Police Department and Grand Canyon National Park Service send their appreciation to the many community members that made the recent Tip-A-Cop fundraiser at Taverna Greek Grill a huge success. The event occurred on January 9, 2012 and over $1,400 was raised for Arizona Special Olympics. Congressman Paul Gosar Changing Districts

U.S. Representative Paul Gosar is announcing he will seek reelection in a district other than his home base of Flagstaff.  Arizona's districts have been re-drawn, putting the GOP stronghold of Yavapai County in District Four and creating a more competitive Congressional District One.  Gosar will face  Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, and possibly State Senator Ron Gould of Lake Havasu City. Governor Updates Fire Strategy

Governor Jan Brewer spoke with President Barak Obama about the Wallow Fire and firefighting efforts.  She also did an another ariel tour of eastern Arizona. Authorities Arrest Suspect in Flagstaff Fire

Coconino County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested twenty year-old Obrian Wilson Kee for one count of Burning a Wild Land early Thursday morning and he was subsequently booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility.  On Wednesday afternoon during an investigation into the cause of the Hill Fire Coconino County Detectives established Mr. Kee as a person of interest in this investigation. Man Sought in Connection With Hill Fire

Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies are attempting to contact a person of interest identified as Obrian Wilson Kee who witnesses saw in close proximity to the Hill Fire around the time it started.  He is described as a Native American Male approximately 20 years old with short black hair, 5’ 8” in height and weighing about 140 pounds and last seen wearing a red tee shirt, blue jeans and black combat style boots. Preparing for Fire Season–Neighborhood Watch
