Arizona Snowbowl is experiencing a spectacular season that will carry through to Sunday, April 7 – and perhaps an extra weekend – as all indicators point to a strong finish. The ski resort has received 197 inches of natural snowfall and winter shows no sign of slowing down. Snowbowl’s Base Good -Nordic Center Closing
The Flagstaff Nordic Center is closing this week because of a lack of snow. Officials at the Nordic Center north of Flagstaff on Highway 180, says they expect to reopen for the weekend if snow arrives, as expected. Other facilities at the cross country ski area remain open. Camping Restrictions In Place Near Snowbowl
To provide for greater public safety and property protection, the Coconino National Forest is implementing a restriction on overnight camping in the Snowbowl Road, Snowbowl and Leroux Springs area. Camping is still allowed at designated dispersed campsites along Forest Road 522/Freidlein Prairie Road and at “Big Camp” along Humphreys Peak trail.
