Volunteers and Financial Support Needed for Fire

May 25, 2014 By Flagstaff Business News

Red Cross ShelterThe Slide Fire Incident Management Team (IMT), Coconino County and multiple other agencies are encouraging the public and businesses wishing to support efforts to battle the fire to make financial donations or volunteer at local non-profit organizations.

IMT and all agencies involved with the Slide Fire express their sincere appreciation for donations of material items (food, water, socks, etc.), which were received in support of firefighters and impacted community members.

Please note that storage areas are at maximum capacity and no further donations are needed at this time. Those wishing to aid firefighting efforts are asked to make financial donations or donate their time at any of the following non-profit organizations, which assist during wildfires and local emergencies:

  • United Way of Northern Arizona, http://www.nazunitedway.org/
  • American Red Cross, Grand Canyon Chapter, http://www.redcross.org/az/phoenix
  • Salvation Army, http://salvationarmyflagstaff.org
  • Coconino Search and Rescue, http://coconinosar.org/sarhome.html
  • Wildland Firefighter Foundation, http://www.wffoundation.org/
  • Sedona Fire District Community Wildfire Prevention Fund, 2860 Southwest Drive, Sedona, 86336

The United Way of Northern Arizona partners with Coconino County to coordinate monetary donations and volunteers during and after a disaster in northern Arizona.
