Flagstaff Medical Center recently selected Richard Langosch to serve as interim president and CEO while the organization conducts a national search for a permanent replacement. Langosch replaces Irv Bloom, who recently retired. Prior to this appointment, Langosch served as the interim chief financial officer for Northern Arizona Healthcare, the health system FMC is a part of.
Langosch has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership. His expertise includes strategic, financial, operational and management planning for hospitals and physician practices. He has served as the chief financial officer for six hospitals and as an interim chief financial officer in an additional five organizations.
“Rick’s extensive healthcare background makes him the ideal candidate to lead FMC while we search for the new president,” said William T. Bradel, Northern Arizona Healthcare president and CEO. “He is dedicated to working collaboratively with staff, physicians, management and the Board of Directors to continue the organization’s commitment to providing excellent healthcare services.”
Northern Arizona Healthcare provides services through Flagstaff Medical Center, Verde Valley Medical Center, Verde Valley Medical Clinic, Team Health, Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare, Fit Kids of Arizona, Guardian Air, The Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona, Northern Arizona Homecare and Northern Arizona Hospice. The system provides the only Level I Trauma Center and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, located at FMC, north of Phoenix.
Northern Arizona Healthcare serves almost one half of the state and handles more than 150,000 patient visits each year. The organization employs close to 3,000 staff and has nearly 300 physicians on its active medical staff. As a nonprofit healthcare system, Northern Arizona Healthcare is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
