Flagstaff Business News congratulates this year’s Athena Award winners. The Flagstaff Chamber has sponsored the ATHENAs for more than two decades. The awards honor local businesswomen who serve the community and assist other women in the attainment of their goals. The chamber recently began including the Young Professional Award to recognize emerging business leaders who serve as role models for young women, professionally and personally.
This year’s winner is Brenda Silveus who is Director of Sales and Marketing at Pioneer Title (pictured left with Andy Fox of Pioneer Title.)
The young professional award was given to Sarah Holcomb, a local attorney as well as a lecturer at Northern Arizona University. FBN caught up with Holcomb who had these comments.
“To be this year’s recipient of the Athena Award for Young Professionals is an incredible honor to me. Both Ivy and Heidi are incredible young women who are helping to build a stronger community in Flagstaff, as are all of the past nominees and winners. For me the award represents a milestone in personal growth as well as a commitment to a path of personal and professional service in our community. I was very fortunate to grow up with a number of very strong female mentoring influences–my mother, grandmothers and sisters. This award is also definitely recognition of their positive influences on my life.”
The awards were given out Friday at the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Annual luncheon.
