The Wells Fargo Foundation has granted $10,000 to the Friends of Camp Colton (FCC), a non-profit, 501(c) 3 fundraising organization, to help fund Camp Colton’s outdoor environmental education program for Flagstaff sixth-graders.
This grant reflects Wells Fargo’s commitment to community involvement, which is at the heart of its Vision and Values. “We’re excited about this grant and working with the Friends of Camp Colton,” said Victor Aranda, Northern Arizona Regional President of Wells Fargo. “Camp Colton has been helping Flagstaff children for more than 39 years to learn, hands on, about nature and the importance of protecting our environment.”
“This $10,000 grant will go a long way toward helping Camp Colton continue to provide a unique and experiential educational program for sixth-graders throughout Flagstaff,” said John Giovale, FCC President. “Students who attend Camp Colton leave with lasting memories and a deep respect for the environment. We thank Wells Fargo for their generosity and desire to put the importance of environmental education in the minds of our youth.”
Barbara Hickman Superintendent of the Flagstaff Unified School District notes “Camp Colton is a much anticipated experience for our sixth grade students and an important centerpiece to our increasing focus on sustainability education. We are especially appreciative that Wells Fargo has chosen to fund Camp Colton for general operation support.”
Last year, Wells Fargo invested almost $5 million in corporate and foundation contributions to Arizona schools and non-profits and Arizona team members logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours.
