A child-friendly advocacy center which provides immediate medical treatment, investigational resources, mental health therapy, and victim support services to address the immediate safety and complete well-being of children who are referred to the center. About Childhelp: Nobel Peace Prize nominees Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson founded Childhelp in 1959, establishing it as a leading national non-profit dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect. Childhelp’s approach focuses on advocacy, intervention, treatment, prevention and community outreach.
The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline, 1-800-4-A-CHILD, operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is staffed exclusively with degreed crisis counselors. Childhelp’s programs and services also include residential treatment villages, children’s advocacy centers, therapeutic foster care, group homes, adoption, and child abuse prevention education. Childhelp also created the Childhelp National Day of Hope, held each April during National Child Abuse Prevention Month, that mobilizes people across America to join the fight against child abuse.
