The greater Northern Arizona community gathered at Flagstaff City Hall today to commemorate 911. The National Day of Service events started with an effort led by Northern Arizona University’s Civic Service Institute. Volunteers from the Institute, Americorps, NAU, and many community members placed 3,035 small flags on the lawn of city hall.
At 11:00, community members including emergency service personnel from throughout the region, gathered for a solemn remembrance of the tragedies that changed the country. The American Legion Post 3 organized today’s services.
