The Coconino County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing Sept. 17 to gather feedback from residents on proposed amendments to the County’s zoning ordinances.
The amendments that the Board will consider include multiple less-substantive changes and updates to the County’s zoning ordinances that clarify, update and renumber specific sections. Also included in the proposed changes being considered are time frames and permitting processes, which are now required by state law.
These amendments culminate nearly a year of meetings to update the County’s ordinances. The County Planning and Zoning Commission took action on the proposed amendments in October and forwarded them on to the Board for action at their Dec. 18 meeting.
Following a public hearing at the Dec. 18 meeting, the Board opted to seek additional information on the proposed amendments before taking action. Over a series of six work sessions, the Board discussed these less-substantive zoning ordinance amendments.
The Sept. 17 meeting is open to the public, which is encouraged to provide input. For more information or to see the draft ordinance amendments, visit the County Community Development website at www.coconino.az.gov/
