Governor Jan Brewer has selected Scott Neuman to serve as a member of the ArizonaSERVES Task Force. Neuman is a Program Coordinator in the Citizen Empowerment and Community Engagement division of the Coconino County Community Services Department.
The task force was created to foster communication between the community and faith-based and nonprofit organizations regarding available resources. The Governor established the task force, with the help of the Arizona Department of Economic Security, to connect these resources to the needs of our most vulnerable elderly, disabled, children and youth, and low-income citizens. ArizonaSERVES stands for Service, Engagement, Responsiveness, Volunteerism, Encouragement & Support.
“I am honored to have been chosen to represent Northern Arizona on the ArizonaSERVES Task Force,” said Neuman. “This is a great opportunity to help our communities become more connected and whole as we work together to better help our most at-risk neighbors.”
The task force is divided into smaller units, called “Issue Teams”, which include:
- Foster Care
- Child Care – free or reduced-cost child care
- Supervised CPS Visits
- Elder Independence; and grandparents raising grandchildren
- Transportation for the Underserved
