This presentation will focus on describing the importance of the different parts of a patent and explain how to strategically draft a patent application to provide a strong position for prosecution, broad claims that are difficult to design around, and effective support for litigation. This presentation will also help individuals to more effectively read and understand the scope of a patent. Topics such as patent profanity, specific claim language phraseology and feature descriptions will be covered. Strategies and techniques for the following parts of a patent will be discussed: Tile, Abstract, Background, Figures, Examples, and Claims.
