On Thursday, Sept. 12, lane restrictions will be required as the traffic control equipment is installed and testing completed. Starting at 6 a.m., the northbound left lane will be closed. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the right lane will be closed. At 9 a.m., all northbound lanes of I-17 will be closed to facilitate installation of the center section of the sign. This closure will last approximately 20 minutes and law enforcement will be on site to assist drivers. The work will be completed by 2 p.m.
These dynamic messaging signs (DMS) span the width of the freeway and are used by ADOT to help keep drivers informed of traffic, road and weather conditions.
