The recently formed Flagstaff Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors has hired Steve Conrad as their new Executive Director.
In an agreement with the City of Flagstaff, the Boys and Girls club will open this July in what was formally the Cogdill Recreation Center. This 8,750 square foot building located at 301 S. Paseo Del Flag near the NAU campus will provide educational, recreational, fine arts and leadership development programs for school age youth with special focus on children from disadvantaged circumstances.
Mr. Conrad comes from the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arizona where he was Director of Program Operations and Branch Director for the Prescott Valley Club. Prior to Boys and Girls Clubs, Steve has 24 years of administrative and managerial background including 15 years with Westcor and General Manager of Tim’s Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. Early in his career Steve worked with youths, teens and adults for the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department.
He is married to his high school sweetheart and they have 2 daughters and a son who is currently attending West Point. As an NAU graduate Steve proudly says, “I feel like I’m coming home and can’t wait to get involved in the Flagstaff community and help make a difference for kids in need.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the parent organization, is one of the fastest growing youth service non-profit organizations in America currently serving over 4 million young people through 3,400 community facilities. Boys & Girls Club affiliates exist in most Arizona communities including many communities with significantly smaller populations than Flagstaff.
