U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announce two major grants for District One: a $2 million transportation grant for the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, and a nearly $250,000 science grant for Northern Arizona University.
The Flagstaff Pulliam Airport will receive a $2 million U.S. Department of Transportation grant for rehabilitation of the T-hangar taxilanes, which is needed to maintain structural integrity of the pavement. Read more about the grant here.
Northern Arizona University will receive a $249,990 National Science Foundation award to fund an ecology and sustainability research project titled “IRES: Patagonian Research Experiences in Sustainability Science.” Read more about the award here.
Kirkpatrick, who serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, said, “Whether they’re boosting regional airports or local universities, grants like these can be building blocks for a diversified, stable economy.”
