Several food trucks in the Food Network sponsored Great Food Truck Race are serving up food in downtown Flagstaff today. Spotted on Aspen Street were Barbie Babes, Pizza Mike’s and Momma’s Grizzly Grub.
Barbie Babe’s Hayley Chapman and videographer Bob posed for a photo between cooking and shooting video. Chapman operates the Los Angeles based Australian themed barbecue catering company. The Babes were busy feeding Flagstaff locals and the many visitors downtown.
Kim Yuhl, owner of Fizz Bath Shop on Aspen Avenue, spent the past several days talking about the Great Food Truck Race and organizer’s plans to bring the show to Flagstaff. She was contacted by someone in the Great Truck Race who had been following her postings on Twitter.
“They were looking for great places to be and because I had been active (on Twitter,) they knew I wanted to play,” said Yuhl, who had TV crews taping inside her shop and two trucks parked directly in front, serving up a steady stream of customers.
Fellow Twitter enthusiast and Flagstaff Realtor Paula Monthofer also enjoyed some of the fare during the Flagstaff Great Food Truck Race. “I want to order one of everything,” joked Monthofer, balancing her daughter’s stroller and two plates: one with pizza and the with a steaming Italian Beef sandwich. “The Food Gods have smiled upon us.”
