Tomorrow: Learn about Hopi Silver Overlay
At 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, the museum presents “A History of Hopi Silver Overlay.”
This free presentation features museum Artist-in-Residence Ed Kabotie (Tewa/Hopi). Kabotie will describe the history and development of Hopi overlay jewelry. He will examine overlay symbolism and both his family’s and the museum’s roles in introducing this jewelry-making technique to Hopi.
