The North Flagstaff Bashas is reopening after a fire late last month. No one was injured in the blaze which damaged the entrance and other parts of the establishment. The following statement has been issued by Bashas’ officials.
Flagstaff Firefighters risked their lives to mitigate the damage to our
store and to the complex.
After:
* Removing and taking inventory of damaged product;
* Replacing an air conditioning unit;
* Replacing parts of the roof;
* Rebuilding the front entrance area;
* Painting and fixing plumbing issues;
* Cleaning the shelves and store from evidence of smoke, ash and water
damage; and
* Passing Health Department, EPA, City of Flagstaff and Landlord
inspections…
We’d like to thank the Flagstaff Firefighters who helped to save our
store. Without their help, we wouldn’t be reopening it today. After the
holiday weekend, we plan to hold a BBQ at the store to thank the
firefighters who helped to save it. We will keep you posted when a BBQ
date is confirmed.
We’re also especially grateful for all of the positive support we’ve
received from our members (employees), customers, and the community.
It’s truly been a team effort to get this store re-opened, and we
appreciate everyone’s assistance!
The Fire Dept. should have a detailed report about what caused the fire
by next week.
