After a brief reprieve in the Trinity mountains of California, Diana Owens and her daughter, Leah McCabe have re-purchased Poor Henry’s Salon and redefined their services now offering precision hair styling, hair color, facials and Brazilian hair removal for body and eyebrow reshaping.
“The Trinity mountain’s were beautiful but didn’t offer any business opportunities,” says Owens. When we were notified that Poor Henry’s was for sale we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to acquire our business and be back in Flagstaff.” Owens, who has been styling hair for over 20 years originally opened Poor Henry’s in 1989.
McCabe, who has been a professional hair stylist and esthetician for 11 years is also a competitive mountain bike racer ranked 5th in the nation in her category for USA Cycling. With her passion for the outdoors, she firmly believes Brazilian body hair removal is safest and healthiest for the skin and has found runners, swimmers and cyclists to enjoy the results. “The product we use is soy-based and anti-bacterial,” says McCabe. “Both men and women enjoy this type of hair removal as the hair follicles grow back slower and softer and eventually stop the growth.”
Poor Henry’s Salon also offers Hungarian facials, a soothing and effective technique using upper body massage and organic products from local manufacturers. “To assist our clients with their daily skin care we can help design a personalized at home regimen that will enforce healthy skin,” says McCabe.
Providing a relaxed and friendly ambiance, Poor Henry’s Salon is located at 1061 South Plaza Way on the north side of University Plaza next to Yogurt U. For appointments, call (928) 774-0016.
