SCA recently awarded a $2,780 grant to Northland Preparatory Academy for its Bicycle of Power and Recycling Energy Education Project.
SCA, a global hygiene and forest products company, awarded more than $43,000 in grants this year to 14 schools in the six regions where it has U.S. operations, including Flagstaff and Bellemont.
The Bicycle of Power and Recycling Energy Education Project will combine understanding the generation and transfer of energy through the act of cycling, the conservation of energy, and the conservation and recycling of materials.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, SCA representatives presented a ceremonial grant check to Northland Preparatory Academy students.
Including this year’s winners, SCA has awarded nearly $30,000 to schools in the Flagstaff and Bellemont areas.
SCA has nearly 260 employees in the area at its mill in Flagstaff and converting plant in Bellemont. FBN
