Despite the Valley’s record-breaking Heat Wave, Northland outdoor enthusiasts are getting ready for snow! The 100-day countdown to the Arizona Snowbowl 2013 -2014 Ski Season has begun! Season Passes go on sale Sunday, Sept. 1.
For the first time in Snowbowl’s 75-year history, the ski resort already can count on good skiing 100 days before ski lift operators load the first chair. Based on historical weather data, Arizona Snowbowl is expecting temperatures to be suitable for snowmaking in late November, allowing for the creation of a solid base across much of the mountain during the Thanksgiving holiday season.
“Even if there is no snow in the forecast, past climate patterns at 9,000-feet elevation and our state-of-the-art snowmaking system give us confidence for projecting opening day to occur around Nov. 29,” said Arizona Snowbowl General Manager J.R. Murray.
All Unlimited Season Passes now provide 120+ days of skiing and riding at Snowbowl from late November through early April. Plus, Unlimited Season Passholders will be able to magnify their winter recreation experience through the Powder Alliance, a more than $2,000 value that adds three free days of skiing at each of the 11 other well-known participating Western ski resorts, including Crested Butte, Snowbasin and Sierra-at-Tahoe.
Adult Unlimited Season Passes purchased from Sept. 1 to Oct. 16 are $519. Dependent Unlimited Passes are $149 for ages 8 to 18. College Unlimited Passes are $399 (9 credit hours are required).
The Midweek Season Pass is now the Snowbowl Select Adult Pass with more days at $399. It is valid Mondays through Fridays, except over the Christmas holiday and Saturday blackouts, plus early and spring season Sundays. Martin Luther King and Presidents’ Day also are included. In addition, Snowbowl Select Adult Passholders receive 50 percent off window lift ticket rates on blackout dates. “This is the right pass for those who have the opportunity to ski midweek and are more selective about when they ski,” said Murray.
All Snowbowl Season Passholders receive discounts at the ski area, at more than 30 Flagstaff businesses, and partner ski resorts such as Durango, Telluride and Sipapu.
Arizona Snowbowl Season Passes will be available for the pre-season rate from Sept. 1 to Oct. 16, online and at the following locations on select dates: the Flagstaff Ski Swap, Sept. 27-29, and at the Drury Inn & Suites from Oct.11-13.
