Southwest Windpower, the world’s leading manufacturer of personal wind generators, today announced that it has entered into a sales and marketing agreement with Green Trail Energy to distribute the revolutionary mobile solar and wind powered energy and communication system—GSW-7000—under the name MWS-7000. This partnership underscores Southwest Windpower’s mission to make clean, affordable energy available to everyone.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to increase accessibility to, and use of, renewable energy sources across the globe, this partnership will allow Southwest Windpower to help expand the sales of one of our key customers by leveraging our distribution channels and market reach,” said Scott Brown, president and chief operations officer of Southwest Windpower. “MWS-7000 is a unique product offering both wind and solar energy, with applications in several of our customer markets.”
Designed specifically to provide reliable and cost-effective power in remote locations, the carbon-free MWS-7000 system is equipped with Southwest Windpower’s Skystream 3.7 personal wind turbine, 16 on-board photovoltaic solar panels and absorbent glass mat (AGM) batteries with a combined maximum power rating of 7 kW. By producing low maintenance, emissions-free energy while simultaneously serving as a mobile communications tower system, MWS-7000 is ideal for various remote applications including military, government, disaster relief and telecommunications.
“When researching small wind turbines to incorporate into our product, Southwest Windpower’s personal wind generators were head and shoulders above the competition,” said Dennis Wingo, chief executive officer of Green Trail Energy. “The company’s premier products and core values align consistently with our goal of creating reliable alternative energy and communication systems to power remote areas across the globe. We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Southwest Windpower to distribute the MWS-7000.”
MWS-7000 product features include:
- Remote monitoring of power generation, battery charge and generator fuel state significantly reduces on-site service visits while ensuring maximum up time.
- National Electrical Manufacturers Association 3R (NEMA 3R) telecommunications cabinets to carry communications gear.
- 6W propane backup to batteries.
- Custom configuration to fit user-specific needs.
- Nitrated hydraulic rams to increase the life of the hydraulic system to 10 to 20 years.
- Optional generator to add power for high demand auxiliary power applications.
- Utility grid tie inverter for connection to local power grids provides continuous backup and sale of surplus energy and up to 6 kW of alternating current (AC) power.
MWS-7000 systems are available for order immediately, allowing up to 60 days for construction. MWS-7000 qualifies for the federal government program for commercial purchasers, offering either a 30 percent Internal Revenue Status (IRS) federal tax credit or 30 percent cash rebate through 2011. The system also qualifies for a 100 percent write-off under depreciation for 2011. Various state incentives also apply.
