Strong Turnout for Candidates Forum

April 13, 2012 By Theresa Bierer

The Coconino Center for the Arts was full of constituents who came to hear the candidates talk about their stances.  Mayoral candidates Jerry Nabours and Al White started off by answering questions from moderator John Stark, KNAU general manager.
The topic for the debate was “Nonprofits and the Community,”  although there was a wide variety of topics from public-private partnerships to which books were on the candidates’ bedside tables.
After a short break, the mayoral hopefuls stepped down and the six candidates for city council took the stage.
Flagstaff Business News spoke with several attendees after the forum who said the event gave them a better perspective on the candidates, helping them decide for whom they will cast their votes.
Ballots will be mailed out April 19th with votes tabulated on the general election May 15th.
